HERO part five, the final version

OK, here is the final version.

I added the shadow and the rune on the stone and re-sized the image to the 8.5x11 final size.

More coming soon...

HERO part four, additional highlights, effects and...

HIS TAIL!!!

Somehow, I completely forgot to add Hero's tail to the original drawing. Here, I digitally added it by drawing it on a separate piece of paper and adding it behind the character.

I also changed where I had the highlights on the snake... instead on top, they are on the bottom... better to emphasize the sword as the light source.

HERO part three, basic inks and effects

At this point, I have gone over the entire piece with pen and ink, and then added a splatter effect in the background with white acrylic paint and a toothbrush.

I also added a "highlighting" effect around his sword.

HERO part two, tight pencils

The original pencils were completed on an 14x17 piece of Bristol paper.

HERO part one, pencil roughs

Wow! Did not realize it's been since April '10 since my last post...

This is the "really, really" rough for an idea for a new project that I am working on with my kids...

HERO

I am going to update the images for the final piece and then have more coming soon.
